This position Reports To: Manufacturing Engineer
General Summary:
The Manufacturing and Maintenance Technician will be involved in all aspects of the electronics manufacturing process. This role will require critical thinking, troubleshooting of equipment and process, use of hand/power tools, machine programming, and knowledge of Microsoft Office. This position is a continuous growing, learning, and adapting role as processes and technology changes.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute preventative maintenance on all manufacturing equipment and some facilities maintenance.
- Axial and radial insertion, SPI, screen printer, pick and place, reflow oven, AOI, selective solder, wave solder, potting pumps, filters, and conveyors.
- Manage external calibrations and perform internal calibrations on measuring equipment such as
- Power supplies, calipers, multimeters, and other related equipment.
- Program and maintain programs for
- Through hole AOI equipment (Maker Ray)
- Wire processing equipment (Schleuniger)
- Selective Solder (Nordson Cerno/Ace Kiss)
- Universal Axial and Radial insertion machine
- Perform first article inspections for SMT, Axial, and Radial insertion as needed.
- Support box build assemblies and work instructions.
- Support production when problems and questions arise.
- 3D printing capabilities are a plus but not required.
- SPI/AOI programming are a plus but not required.
- Willingness to assist in other departments as needed.
- Maintain and actively support the Poly Electronics QMS.
- Participates in, and supports, continuous improvement projects and activities.
- Assists in problem solving – root cause analysis – corrective actions.
- Follows all safety policies and protocol.
- Communicate with team members in a respectful manner.
- Conveys ideas or opinions in a way that promotes the established Poly Electronics team philosophy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Associates degree or 3-5 years experience in electronics manufacturing.
- Mechanical assembly skills and soldering ability.
- Capable of using Microsoft Office with a focus on Microsoft Excel.
- Working knowledge of equipment used in Electronics Manufacturing..
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical drawings, work instructions, instruction manuals, and schematics.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to walk or stand 50%-100% of the working day.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted multiple times a day.
- Ability to lay on the floor or under equipment.
- Ability to grasp and manipulate small parts.
- Able to work under minimal supervision.
