Description
The battery separator is designed to protect a multi‐battery system from overloading auxiliary batteries while being charged. The battery separators two functions include: Starting the engine and protecting the battery charging system. When starting the vehicle, the battery separator measures both battery banks for voltage. If the chassis battery is below the threshold to start the vehicle, the battery separator will allow the auxiliary battery to assist in starting the vehicle. The battery separator ensures the batteries in the system are being properly charged. When the batteries reach a threshold of 13.2 volts, the battery separator will connect both battery banks to draw from. If one battery reaches a threshold of 12.7 volts or less, the battery separator will disconnect battery banks from one another to reduce excessive power drain.
